For QuickBooks & Intuit payroll

Your payroll PDF is already a check. It’s missing one line.

QuickBooks prints the payee, the amount, the stub and the check number — then stops, because it assumes you bought pre-printed check stock carrying your bank’s MICR line. Upload the PDF and we add that line. Print the whole batch on blank paper.

No credit card. Nothing retyped. Your check numbers stay yours.

Nothing in the clear band. A bank reader has no routing or account number to read, so this only works on stock you already paid to have pre-printed.

Real E-13B characters in the ANSI clear band, carrying the check number Intuit already assigned. Print it on blank paper and deposit it.

Everything above the band — payee, amount, memo, stub — is untouched. We only add what was missing.

Three steps, about a minute.

  1. 1
    Pick the bank account
The account these checks are drawn from. One-time setup, then it’s remembered.
  2. 2
    Upload the payroll PDF
One check or a batch of fifty. Several files at once is fine — they merge into one printable PDF.
  3. 3
    Print on blank stock
Plain paper works. No pre-printed checks to order, store, or waste when a run goes wrong.

We don’t rebuild your check. We patch it.

Other tools make you re-enter every employee, amount and deduction. Your paystub already has all of it.

Your check numbers

We read the number Intuit printed on each page and encode that exact number in the MICR line. No re-sequencing, no reconciliation surprises.

Your stub, exactly

Hours, rates, taxes, deductions, YTD — the whole paystub stays byte-for-byte as QuickBooks produced it.

Your payee names and amounts

Nothing retyped means nothing mistyped. The page you approved in QuickBooks is the page that prints.

Your layout

Each page is placed back onto US Letter at 1:1, so what prints matches what Intuit designed.

We never touch your bank.

SimpleChex does not connect to your bank, move money, or initiate a payment. You give us a routing and account number so we can print the same line your pre-printed stock would have carried — then you print the check and deposit or mail it yourself, exactly as you do today.

Bank details are stored per business and visible only to the people you give access to. Read the privacy policy.

Questions people ask first.

Why can't I just print QuickBooks paychecks on plain paper?+

QuickBooks prints everything except the MICR line, because it assumes you bought stock that already has it. Without that line the bank has nothing to read. We add it.

Does this change my check numbers?+

No. We use the number already on the page. Your numbering stays continuous with QuickBooks.

Can I do a whole payroll run at once?+

Yes. Upload a multi-check PDF or several files together; every page gets its own number and you get one merged PDF to print.

Is the MICR line real, or a picture of one?+

Real E-13B characters, positioned to the ANSI X9.13 clear band. Bank readers treat it like any pre-printed check.

What if my payroll isn't QuickBooks?+
